There are many ways to get tasks into iGTD. 'F-key shortcut' refers to the function key that is assigned as the "add selection from application to iGTD" key. This is F5 by default but can be changed from within iGTD preferences in the Appearance tab.

How to add selection to iGTD |
| iGTD |
Cmd-N will always add a task. If you are in the Contexts or Projects view, it will be added there. Otherwise you will first be taken to the Inbox.
To make sure the task gets added to the Inbox, first use Cmd-B to show the Inbox.
